HOUSE BUILDING AND
RENOVATIONS |
If we can’t do the job
for you, we would be able to refer tradespeople whom
we have found to be reliable and efficient at their
various trades and professions. These include
structural engineers, building certifiers, general
and house builders, carpenters, electricians,
gasfitters, plumbers and drain layers, air
conditioning specialists and landscapers.
Our services also include cursory supervision of new
building works where clients want to ensure quality
control at various stages of the building work.
Under the Building Act, a Building Certifier is
required to carry out at least 3 inspections on a
residential construction namely:
Footings/Foundations/Slab, Framing and Final. Most
people are unaware that the certifier is only
obliged to ensure that the work as specified in the
approval plans, is being carried out. In the Final
Inspection, only matters relating to Health and
Amenity (Sealing of wet areas, Room heights,
Facilities such as kitchen sink, bath/shower,
Laundry and Toilet/s need to be certified and often
issues which the builder should have addressed are
left unnoticed only to be discovered when the
clients have taken possession. This can cause delays
and inconvenience. A Standard Property Inspection on
completion of a new building can identify such
issues and avoid unnecessary problems at a later
date and we can guide you through the necessary
building documentation which can prove vital in
later times.
