Tile Profile Metal Roof

Tile profile metal sections commonly known as ‘Decramastic’ were commonly used during the 1970s and 1980s.  This product was popular with owners who no longer wanted maintenance issues associated with an aging corrugated metal roof and the suppliers of this product offered a cheap solution as these metal tiles could be fixed onto the existing roof sheeting, onto timber battens. They always provided a ‘modern look’.  ‘Decramastic ’metal tiles were also used as a single roofing material.  This zincalume product can also have fine pebbles factory glued to the outer surface and these can de-stabilise over time resulting in some ‘bald patches’.  One of the main disadvantages of this material is that it should not be walked on as indentations and stress cracks will result.  While this roof may last for many more years with ongoing maintenance, a replacement zincalume or Colorbond sheeted roof along with new gutters and downpipes, will need to be a consideration as part of upgrading.
